Ohshc Headcannon
OHSHC - Y/n in a uncomfortable situation head-cannons
saw someone else do something similar and wanted to put my own spin on it :))
TW: creepy males making y/n uncomfy
gender neutral x host club members
Haruhi đ
Youâve decided to go visit the girl while sheâs working.
Sheâs busy talking to one of her guests so you decided to wait and sit at one of the couches
One of the men quickly walked over, he was here to drop off some shipments but thinks that now youâre a new host/hostess
He sits across from you, just staring for a moment before striking a conversation
âSo, you seem like a cutie, are you new here?â
Your eyes widen a bit, taken aback by his presence and how blunt he was
âIâm not apart of this club,â You awkwardly chuckle, hoping that Haruhi is almost finished because now you are starting to feel uncomfortable
âGood, good, that just means I donât have to share you with anyone,â They wink, standing up and now sitting besides you
Haruhi, stops her conversation with the girls, hearing that awkward chuckle of yours her head turns
At first, she just thinks your talking with one of the boys, one telling a inappropriate joke and you just trying to be kind
But soon realizes thatâs not the case, and excuses herself
Haruhi doesnât exactly feel jealous, just a bit confused, and frankly worried
She can tell by your apparent facial expressions that youâre also worried yourself
Finding a empty tea tray, she grabs it, and rushes over with it, then taking a seat besides you
âY/n!â She smiles, handing you a tea cup, not even filled. âIâm glad you waited for me, sorry to waist your time,â
Youâre overjoyed sheâs here, the man sending you some interesting glares and you didnât want to cause a scene
âIâll do better at watching the time. Um, iâm sorry you donât look familiar,â She looks at the man while taking one of your hands and intertwining it with hers
âOh, you were waiting for someone?â He asks you. âYou should have told me, it was like you were leading me on,â he scoffs, standing up and leaving
Haruhi looks at you with a small smile
âWhat a jerk, would you like me to make some actual tea now?â
The both of you laugh, you feeling much more comfortable with her being by your side
Tamaki đ
He was so excited to spend today with you!
You didnât feel like doing much, just wanting to maybe go to a cafe with the man
He had tons of things planned, zoos, cafes, shopping, musicals, etc
If there was something fun, he had it planned for you two to do soon
After spending half a day planning the dates youâd have when you both had off, today the both of you would go to a pet shop
Tamaki always expressed how much he loved animals, ever since he was able to go to one, and itâs something he still enjoys indulging in
The both of you were outside the shop, he had some money almost spilling out of his wallet, prepared to buy some animals
Leaving you to make sure he doesnât, or at least doesnât go overboard...
Once inside the worker set up a room for you two to play with the puppy
Unfortunately, today was a busy day and many people were also coming, so you were paired up with another group of guys
They had a harsher look, not being so friendly, and smelled kind of gross
You werenât one to judge, sometimes, but something about them gave off a weird feeling
âGosh, arenât these puppies adorable!â Tamaki beamed, picking up the little dog into his arms, then bringing it up to his face
âTamaki, you have to share with the rest of us,â You reminded him, taking the puppy from him and placing it on the ground
The man sat on your other side, quickly went to grab the dog, his hand touching yours a bit
âBut Y/n, I didnât get enough time with him,â He whined, shaking your shoulders a bit while the other men stifled chuckles
âY/n, thatâs a nice name,â The man on your side commented, sending a smile
âUm, thanks,â You just messed with your fingers, not looking at him
âSo,â The one man tried to start up a conversation with Tamaki, giving his friend the chance to talk to you
Tamaki knew they were trying to do something, so he made sure to keep a eye on you, making sure you felt okay
âYou know, we donât have plans after this, what if you came and hung out with us?â The man asked you, moving closer
âSweetie! Donât forget that you promised to go get ice cream with me after. Itâs the perfect end to our date,â Tamaki smiled widely, grabbing your arm and standing up âAh, I think iâve seen enough puppies for today,â He put a hand on your cheek and kissed your lips. âBye now!â
Kyoya đ€
His father was hosting a dinner party tonight
The Ootori group just opened a new high tech hospital, with the helps of your families business
It was great to see both families interacting well, and felt good to have his father like you, even if you didnât really like him
Kyoya was thankful that his father was okay with you, worried it would affect his opportunity in being the heir eventually
You were all dressed up for the night, told to keep a smile and kind words the whole time
But you were mostly planning on spending it by Kyoyaâs side..
Eventually he was moved away because his father wanted to introduce all his children to a potential business partner
Your family did the same, to a different man, one who kind of seemed to take a particular interest in you
âI love your hair,â The older, 40 year old man complimented you, your father just smiling lightly and soon walking away
âI should go find, uh, Kyoya!â You smiled oddly at the older man, about to walk away
âWait up handsome/beautiful,â The man wrapped his chubby fingers around your wrist, tugging on it, and pulling you to stand right in front of him
You frantically looked around, your father talking to someone else, and the mans smile was fretting away from friendly
Kyoya had just finished talking to some painting company CEO, someone he could care less about
He wanted to use this time to do things with you, talk more, hear about your day maybe, just see your smile and hear your laughter
Luckily he turned around at the right moment, seeing the man yank you back and his facial feature turning to a wicked expression
He quickly, but respectfully, whisked over, titling his glasses down a bit and reaching a hand across your lower back to wrap around your waist, pulling you into his side
âDarling, who is this?â Kyoya asked, seeing your expression change to a grateful one
âUm, I never caught his name....?â
âItâs Toling, from America,â He smiled at you, his âsmileâ changing when looking at Kyoya. âYou have a boyfriend?â
âAnd your from America?â Kyoya questioned back, not letting you answer his. âWhat exactly is your position, my father, Ootori, he also told me no one from out of country would be here. Why are you here? I donât think you were invited, this seems like a appropriate moment to call security, do you agree, dear?â He looked at you
âYeah, I think so,â You grinned at him, pecking his cheek while the older man ran off towards the front door.
Hikaru đ
The two of you heard about this new performance group in the area
They werenât anything professional but still interested you both, maybe being so bad you could make a couple jokes about it
It started off... well interesting to say the least...
You both couldnât figure out where it was going, what the overall theme of it was, I mean someone spilt their âpropâ on the stage floor
It was a disaster in the beginning, the both of you already having jokes in mind, but being respectful to wait till the end to say them
During the performance a hand intertwined with yours, that being Hikaruâs of course
When it was finished, the both of you had no words, just tears?
You didnât know when they got there, or how the performance all of a sudden changed sad, but it was there
You got up to walk by a concession area, hoping to purchase a pack of tissues
Someone was behind you in line, and you could just feel their gaze on your behind
âDo you have a pack of tissues on hand?â You asked, pulling out some money and the women handing it to you
âTissues, I could have given you those for free,â The man behind you smiled. âNow, whatâs a attractive kid like you doing here?â
âWatching a show, like everyone else,â You motioned with your hand, taking a tissue and wiping your eyes
âYouâre a funny one, sparky. How about I treat you to a meal?â
âNo, thanks,â You scratched the back of your head, trying to step away, but him just blocking you
âCome on now,â He chuckled, reaching for your arm before you pulled back.
âY/n, hey, you got them,â Hikaru pushed past him, planting a longer kiss on your lips and swinging his arm to rest over your shoulders. âDo you mind? Weâre on a date,â He told the older man, guiding you away from him. âYou okay, that man sure was a idiot trying to take you away from me,â
Kaoru đ
He was honestly super pumped about getting to spend time with just you
He saw how much his stubborn twin could fall in love with Haruhi and become a better person, to mature, he wanted that with someone and that was you
To say he was nervous, was a understatement, this was your guysâs first date and he wanted it to be great
Sure you had been dating for a while, but still
You both decided on just going to a carnival thing in town
Sounded fun and would let you both get loose a bit, chat about life, truly have a break from everything and everyone
(not everyone, the club was secretly there making sure it went great)
After a long day, and many rides, Kaoru went to go order some food for the both of you while you waited on the bench
âIs this seat taken?â A man around your age questioned, you nodded you head no, and moved over on the bench to give him some space
âGo ahead,â
âThanks, wow, uh your eyes are really pretty,â He complimented, taking a sip of his drink
âOh, thanks?â You shyly smiled, tapping you finger on the bench to a beat, waiting for Kaoru to come back
The man kept asking random questions about yourself though, like âhow old are youâ âwhat do you think of the weather todayâ âdid you like that ride over there?â it was awkward for you to answer
Kaoru had just bought the food, starting to walk over, but quickly noticing you chatting with the man
He felt, jealous?
This perfect day he was having, and youâre talking to another guy?!
But wait, he remembered his brother talking about really looking at someoneâs actions to truly understand, things they say, really paying attention
He soon realized that you werenât really liking the conversation, your eyes widening after he spoke, slowly returning the comment to him
He whisked over there, honestly just plopping himself in between the two of you, in the (little) empty space
âI, uh, got the food,â He waved it in the air a bit, not spilling it. âYou still hungry, babe?â
âThank you Kaoru, youâre so kind,â You grinned, kissing him on the lips, his cheeks beating up.
âMhm, letâs go eat somewhere else, just the two of us!â
Mori đ
Mori and you werenât big on doing a bunch of stuff for dates
You both mostly ended up at one anotherâs house, lounging there, maybe a cafe, who knew
But today he kind of wanted you to watch his practice, he was a bit awkward which you noticed quickly
âTakashi, you okay?â You asked him, tapping his shoulder. âWhat do you want to do today?â
He wanted to straight out say âcome watch me practiceâ but also didnât want to be inconsiderate of what you wanted to do
He shrugged his shoulders, cracking his knuckles a bit, hoping you got the sign...?
âYou know, I havenât seen you practiced yet, that could be fun!â
He was beaming inside
So it was set, the two of you planning to meet up at the place he practiced at
It was something nice to do, he worked on his moves for a while, you starting some homework but still watching
One of his partners he worked on some of the skills with sat near you
âHey, what are you working on?â You two chatted a little, trying to be kind, but you knew he was just trying to speed up the small talk into something more fun, for him
âAnyways, I need to focus,â You told him, standing up and getting prepared to move to a different space
âI think you should take a break, what do you say?â
âI canât, I have a test tomorrow, need to get this done,â
âDonât be like that, iâll help you study after our break,â He was slowly/quickly closing the distance between you two
Mori just finished throwing a man, going to have a drink of water and see how youâre doing, but seeing that âopponentâ of his flirting with you?
âY/n,â He walked up, leaning down to kiss your forehead. âIâm done here, letâs go,â
You nodded, the man across from you shaken up a bit at the stare Mori sent afterwards
Honey đ
Honey was babbling about a new cafe that popped up, very VERY excited about it
Apparently it was cute, had a nice seating area, and the BEST cake in town
So, of course, he had to decide that himself
(I think he secretly has a blog online dedicated to trying and critiquing cakes)
He thought this would be a perfect time to catch up and share the lovely moment with
You agreed, wanting to spend time with the boy you liked so much, always enjoying sharing treats with him
After school you both headed right there
The place was nice, and a little packed, since it did just open
You both found a little booth in the back, away from the crowd a bit
Honey ordered, almost, one of every cake they sold
âIâll just try one of his,â You told the waitress, who looked like her eyes were going to pop out of her head due to Honeyâs order
âIf you want Y/n-chan!â He smiled at you, soon going into a ramble about one place he bought a bad cake at
Usa-chan also wasnât pleased with the taste of it
Once a few of the pieces came, he gave you Usa-chan to hold, to make sure he didnât get dirty
You spent the time, watching him eat cake, feeding him cake, eating some yourself, and chatting about the Host Club
He eventually had to go to the bathroom, telling you he would be right back and to watch Usa-chan
While he left another man came up, figuring you were by yourself
âArenât these a lot of treats for you?â He asked, secretly judging you
âIâm sure itâs not your place to decide whatâs enough for me,â You scoffed, looking the other way
âAnd you have a stuffed bear? So cute. Let me buy you something else, for a little kid like you,â He placed some money on the table, trying to reach for Usa-chan
major pedo vibes ....
You moved away from him, not letting his dirty hands touch your boyfriends precious bunny
âAw come on now,â
âY/n-chan, letâs go now!â Honey walked over, you climbing out the empty way of the booth, standing near Honey
âAw youâre here with your brother,â The man cooed, standing up himself.
You grabbed Honeyâs hand, not wanting to interact any longer with the man, and leaving the cafe
âSorry Honey, I- I just really donât-â
There the man was, he followed the both of you out
He was moving to touch/grab you from behind, Honey quickly noticing and pushing you out of the way a bit
Pulling a classic move, the older man was on the ground
The surrounding crowds were in awe, you were still a bit surprised from his strength sometimes
âThatâs not nice, please donât touch Y/n-chan or Iâll have to call the cops!â He smiled at him, soon grabbing your hand and the two of you walking away like nothing happened

Colour blind
Day one of @ohshc-week : soulmates or found family
Everyone always knew that there were two things that everyone had; sight that only saw the colour of their soulmates soul, and that words appear on their skin when they realise they've fallen in love and colour returns to their sight- and those words are the words moment by their soulmate in that moment.
Kyoya didn't have a soulmate, that much was true. He was sure of it the moment his sister told him about the legends, he remembers in this stupid little toddler wisdom, actually asking her.
"Fumi⊠why don't I see any colours..?"
He remembers the look of absolute heartbreak on his sister's face, as she came to the conclusion everyone he'd told had come to; Kyoya didn't have a soulmate, he was unlovable, he would die alone. But of course Fiyumi had done her best to comfort him, suggesting any number of reasons he couldn't see a single colour; maybe his soulmate's soul wasn't on the visible spectrum? Maybe he was just colourblind? Maybe his soulmate didn't even have a soul? Kyoya had jumped right on that excuse, the idea that his soulmate was a demon of some sort, made sense in his little toddler brain, especially when falling for his horribly crude, horribly rude ex, maybe his own soul was an ugly shade of green, just like Kuze had said he could see- Kyoya didn't even know what green looked like. But every night, he searched his body for words, any word Kuze had ever said to him- and never found anything.
That was probably the final nail in the coffin, the final, undeniable proof that he never had a soulmate, and never would. He spent so many nights, ending up in tears⊠how was he so unlovable? He had no friends after upsetting both Kuze and his fiancĂ©e, he'd told them he saw orange, he just wanted to make him happy⊠but she saw orange, she was who made him happy. He was all alone, and he would always be aloneâŠ
Then he met Tamaki, Tamaki was special, Tamaki made him feel happy like he hadn't felt in so long. But never once did Kyoya let himself fall for the man, he knew better by now, he never told Tamaki that he couldn't see in colour, he didn't want his new best friend to think him a freak. But he loved to listen to Tamaki go on and on about the colour he saw⊠purple.
Purple was the colour of Tamaki's eyes, the colour of the roses he had surrounded Kyoya with, it was a colour so beautiful, it could bring Tamaki to tears if he spoke about it for too long, it was a colour that Tamaki so often told Kyoya he looked so good in. Kyoya had to trust his word, he had no idea how colour theory worked, only how blacks and whites and greys looked together, there was nothing Kyoya hated more than blacks and greys.
Black was a dark, sombre colour, it wasn't even a colour, it was a shade of nothing, the ugliest in Kyoya's opinion; it was the colour of his unlovable hair, the colour of the book he carried around, the colour of everything sick and bad. The greys were worse; they were everything Kyoya couldn't see, they were every colour of the rainbow, a horrible reminder of everything he was not, the horrible mark of a lack of love, they were the colour of his eyes, showing everyone exactly who he was, he hated greys- but he hated the colours even more, the light hiding from his vision.
White was the only lack of colour he ever cared for; the sunlight drifting through the open window and onto his face, the inside of warm, fresh bread, it was the colour that everything light and bright appeared to be, it wasn't an absence of happiness, but the only joy Kyoya could gleam, it was also the colour that most of Tamaki appeared as, from his hair to his overly expensive 'red' leather shoes.
Then the host club was founded, it was a joint effort, though Kyoya really didn't see the point, all these girls had soulmates, what could they ever see in their hosts? Kyoya didn't understand romance for the sake of romance, everything should be about your soulmate- how dare these selfish brats focus on anything else? He'd always hated how his brothers focused on their studies, they were always better than him in one sense- did they have to be better than him in every way? Now these boys and their stupid guests were going to mess around, neglecting time that should be spent searching for their soulmate. But of course Kyoya couldn't have just said that, then Tamaki would ask why Kyoya never searched for his own⊠and he'd have to admit how unlovable he was.
But he grew fond of the club, if not their activities. He still resented each and every guest to walk through their door, but at least Kyoya could excuse the hosts- they were only messing around. Besides, at least one of them already knew their soulmate; Honey saw a dark mauve colour, it was a strange colour, one Kyoya couldn't even begin to imagine, the boy-lolita's soulmate was a girl from the black magic club, who had previously complained about the bright pink shades everything took- now it was her favourite colour.
He began to see the hosts as a family unit, like the times Tamaki always described, it was never anything like his own family- but he had to adore the beautiful nuclear family picture Tamaki painted for him⊠himself as the mother, and Tamaki was always the father. It was a picture perfect scene, one Kyoya would never be able to have in any other context. Of course he loved, he fell in love every day, any time there was a beautiful man on the television, any time a handsome man passed his vision in any context. Sometimes he developed a small crush on someone he actually knew, and he had to crush it and remove it from his mind- he was unlovable, he had to remember that.
Haruhi came along and Kyoya began to believe Tamaki had found his soulmate, maybe she was purple, but the roses he found surrounded her were red apparently, not purple- that was the first he realised it was only him surrounded by purple. He appreciated Tamaki surrounding him in such an important colour, he supposed a best friend was a stand in for a soulmate until you found it. He supposed that was also why he was mommy- he'd lose the role once Tamaki found his queen.
He didn't understand why that thought made him feel so sad.
He didn't understand why Haruhi gave him such pitying eyes when he explained why he agreed to found the club with Tamaki.
He certainly didn't understand why he was in physical pain when he was so close to losing Tamaki. He should be happy for his best friend- Eclair was Tamaki's soulmate after all wasn't he? He wondered what colour his friend's soul wasâŠ
But Eclair didn't feel like a purple, she didn't fit any of the descriptors Tamaki gave the colour; she wasn't subtle, sure she was mature- but in too sexual of a sense, purple was withdrawn but glowing, it was a smart colour, one that Tamaki truly loved⊠Eclair was none of that, she was disgusting.
When they settled down together to watch the fireworks after the most stressful day of all their lives, it was Hikaru who spoke up. "Uhh⊠Haruhi?" Haruhi glanced over to him, and Kyoya noticed how the louder twin was holding his forearm, "I have to show youâŠ" and he pulled back his sleeve, to reveal words written in block text, what was presumably red; 'don't worry about that Hikaru, I got this.' and from the gasp that emanated from Haruhi, it was something she had said to him.
Suddenly, she was looking around in awe, "so many coloursâŠ" her hands went to her mouth, before her eyes went down to her own forearm, pulling her own sleeve back, only to see the words Hikaru had just spoken, written in⊠was that comic sans?
All the hosts watched in silence as they embraced, Haruhi kissing Hikaru on the nose before they both chuckled happily⊠Kyoya had to look away, feeling a pang of pain at his friends' happy ending. Honey seemed to have the opposite reaction, clapping his hands together with a giggle and a smile, "aww!! Hika-chan loves Haru-chan!!"
Kaoru seemed pleased, patting his brother on the back, "hell yeah, I called it!"
Tamaki simply gasped, "I knew you had impure intentions for my little girl!" He points at Hikaru, "devil twin!" He glanced at Kyoya pouting, "mommy! Set some ground rules!"
Kyoya sighs, feeling his heart pounding heavy in his chest, really not feeling up to this, he crossed his arms. "Hurt her, we hurt you, and the same goes for vise versa, both of you- take care of each other." The two looked up at Kyoya, both smiling in amusement at how willing Kyoya was to go along with Tamaki's antics, but knowing full well the threats were real- Kyoya doesn't do fake threats. "Although I know you won't, cause you're both fucking soulmates and perfect for each other, obviously." He shoots a quick glare at Tamaki for making him give such a redundant threat.
But the hosts had all paused, looking at him in confusion, that was the first time they'd ever heard Kyoya swear, and they were concerned. "Aren't you happy for them Kyo-chan? What's wrong..?" Honey asked, tilting his head slightly. Only then does Kyoya realise what he'd said, and he withdrew in on himself, trying to find an excuse, any excuseâŠ
"Aw⊠are you upset you still haven't found yours yet?" Tamaki smiled softly, hugging him, "that's so cute Kyoya!" Kyoya felt his cheeks heat up slightly, cursing his sensitivity for things like this.
"Ugh, it's nothing, I'm just a little stressed from today, alright?" He forced a smile, adjusting his glasses quietly and stepping away from Tamaki, who looked a little disappointed.
"I wished I could date *my* soulmate already." Tamaki spoke, sighing, "you two are very lucky," he had turned to the lucky couple again, smiling now.
Haruhi chuckles, smiling back, "oh don't worry, I'm sure your soulmate would be easy to find, she's probably one of your guests."
Tamaki shakes his head at that "oh I already know my soulmate, I'm just waiting for my soulmate to find me."
Everyone pauses at that, and Kyoya feels an even greater pang of pain, his best, dearest friend has found his soulmate, and doesn't even attempt to court her? How selfish of him, what another those without soulmates- not that he'd be aware of that, it's only KyoyaâŠ. It's Hikaru who speaks up, frowning, "why not just tell her? She'd have to realise then?"
"That would be unfair, to deprive my love of the wonderful feeling of discovery and adoration, the same I felt⊠I'd never want my true love to be forced into such a discovery." He smiles, sighing wistfully, ever the romantic is Tamaki, and Kyoya could only wish he had someone who would do that for him⊠but that was impossible.
Hikaru paused, glancing at Haruhi, "well know I feel bad."
Haruhi chuckled, kissing Hikaru's cheek, "don't worry, I appreciate the straightforwardness, I'm glad you just told me. That's why we fit, and whoever Tamaki-senpai's soulmate is, will appreciate his gesture as much as I appreciate yours."
Aw how romantic, Kyoya almost felt sick, his rage- his jealousy, was almost unbearable, what he wouldn't do for a soulmate⊠someone he could call his ownâŠ
They went inside, intending to relax inside the clubroom, in fact Tamaki had suggested they stay the night. So they were setting up for a nice big sleepover, but Kyoya just sat by the window, once again mourning his lack of love. He wasn't really paying attention to what the other hosts were doing, he was just thinking about everything and nothing, he tried to focus on finances and money, at least to keep the tears away, what had he learnt in school recently? Not much if he was honest.
He could hear Tamaki arguing with the twins once again, some things never changed, as much as it was annoying, it was lovely background noise⊠everything Tamaki said was lovely background noise. Tamaki was just, lovely in general- Kyoya couldn't ask for a better best friend⊠of course he'd never say that, he could never admit how much he-
"MAMA!!" Tamaki cried out, rushing to Kyoya's side, his eyes big and shimmering, whining and complaining about something the twins had done or said, but all Kyoya could think about wasâŠ
-loved him. He loved him, he could never admit how much he loved Tamaki. Oh for fucks sake, he'd fallen for Tamaki Souh of all people, his best friend. He thought he'd never make that mistake again- falling for a friend never ends well.
He sighed, opening his eyes again to look that idiot in the face and⊠his eyes⊠was that⊠purple?
He couldn't see a single grey, not one speck⊠he looked around, barely any black either⊠oh heavens, oh god. It seemed Tamaki had noticed something, standing up, and- oh his suit really was white⊠white, the colour of the roses on Tamaki's table, that fool loved the colour white almost as much as he did purpleâŠ
"Are you alright Kyoya? You look a little⊠shocked." Tamaki smiled, looking down at him. The other hosts glanced over, oh they were all so colourful⊠Kyoya could cryâŠ
"Your suit is whiteâŠ" was all he could manage, practically rendered speechless as he felt a telltale tingle on his wristâŠ
Tamaki nodded, smiling brighter, "you've only just noticed? Or are you finally seeing in colour?" This got the other hosts attention, all eyes going wide, Kyoya had no clue what those colours were⊠the same as coffee he thought, at least in Haruhi's case.
"You're white- you⊠your soulâŠ" Kyoya managed to choke out, looking down at his wrist, written in beautiful white cursive was the word; 'MAMA!!', all caps, two exclamations⊠and Kyoya felt the tears spilling, for the first time not out of sadness or mourning.
"Oh my god! You two are soulmates???" Hikaru blurted out, seemingly shocked, especially as Tamaki nodded.
"I surrounded him in purple for a reason." He then paused, frowning and turning back to Kyoya, "white? My soul is white? Not even a real colour..? God⊠no wonder you got so nervous whenever I brought up the idea of soulmatesâŠ" the pity was clear in his voice, but Kyoya couldn't care less.
"I thought I didn't have oneâŠ" he managed to admit, grabbing Tamaki and pulling him into the tightest hug he could manage, he was in love, he was allowed to be in love- he even had a soulmate that was so special his colour was unique! "You're every colour in the entire light spectrum, you're too realâŠ"
Tamaki chuckled at that, smiling and giving Kyoya lots of little face kisses, "I'm glad your happy mon amour, now please let me go, I can't breathe."
"I'm never letting you go again," Kyoya spoke truthfully, he ever wanted to feel as alone as he had felt not ten minutes ago ever again, he grabbed Tamaki by the face, staring him in the eyes, "now kiss me and don't ever fucking stop."

Since it's on my mind, may I humbly request some headcanons for the OHSHC group working in retail?
(The original text deleted itself so this is my spiteful take two)
Thank you for the ask! This idea made me snort. I doubt many of them would get retail jobs, let alone be allowed to, but if they did:
Haruhi
Out of the entire group, Haruhi would easily be the best in retail, because she understands 'commoners'. I can see her working at a clothing store, she's really good at complimenting customers' choices and making sales, easily the best employee on the team. She would reason with difficult customers rather than getting the manager involved. Haruhi would 100% deck the store out for pride month and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Tamaki
He would probably work at the same store as Haruhi just so that he can hang out with her honestly. He heavily flirts with customers so he ends up with a lot of sales - he frequently reminds Haruhi that he 'only has eyes for her' (she didn't care at all). Tamaki probably wastes a lot of time trying to work out what he's meant to do, rather than actually doing his job. He's clueless, but means well.
Kyoya
This man would not settle for anything less than a managerial position. He's all for taking on as much responsibility as he can and handling things from behind the scenes, only coming out front when there are particularly difficult customers. He's more than happy to call security, they probably work for his family anyway. Schedules would be ready at least two weeks in advance, and he would not take well to people calling in last minute. It's a well organized ship.
Hikaru
He would have a job at a retail store that sells his mother's designs, because hey, it's an easy get. Hikaru is driven a lot by his emotions and he'd take customers' comments far too personally. He is known for playing pranks on his co-workers often; though there isn't a risk of much consequence b/c family privilege. Hikaru gets forced to model new stock by his friends because they find it amusing.
Kaoru
As the younger twin, Kaoru ended up at the same store as his brother - someone needs to calm Hikaru down after all. He's much calmer when serving customers, though there is still a shy element to his personality, and he would prefer to be out back. He is the one that ends up cleaning up the aforementioned pranks, though he always partakes regardless. Kaoru is definitely responsible partly for the modelling they end up doing because he found the idea hilarious.
Hani
Without a doubt, Hani has made many friends out of customers. He has an infectious smile and spends a lot of his shift chatting to anyone who walks through he door, rather than helping out back. Hani probably didn't want this job, but would be relatively happy with showing up whenever scheduled. He would like working with Mori, though would be glad to work with Haruhi too because he thinks she's really interesting to talk to.
Mori
He would probably have followed his cousin in working at the same store out of habit. He's pretty quiet, tending to the register and less to the floor, only speaking when spoken to. Mori is in his own head a lot while at work, which can be a bit difficult for his co-workers; except for Hani, who is used to his behaviour. He would be one of the most observant of his friends that work alongside him, and the best in terms of reporting accurately.

Memories are the Music of our Hearts
The Ouran Host Club decides to attend a local Obon festival during summer vacation! Mori shows off a hidden talent, Haruhi takes on the role of instructor, and Tamaki reaffirms what he's wanted all along.
I wrote this fan fiction for @ohshc-music-room3-zine! Reminder that there are a few physical bundles of the zine left and that PDF sales are still open!
@chiisagi and I collaborated together to make this idea come to life! Find her art work here!
And as always, a big thank you to @thislittlekumquat for being my beta reader for the project!
On AO3
Summer.
A time known for its dreadful humidity, vacations from school, and most importantly, festivals. No matter where one found oneself in Japan, a festival was never too far away this time of the year. Colorful lanterns often lit the way as the sun dipped below the horizon, illuminating the festival with a cheery atmosphere. Although it was becoming more normal for festival-goers to wear casual clothes, many people still donned a yukata for these events despite the difficulty and time it took to dress in them.
The clicking of geta on the hard pavement rang in Haruhiâs ears as they followed the path of paper lanterns, worried that they had kept the others waiting for too long. They noticed their group of friends standing at the entrance, their faces so recognizable at this point that it was near impossible to not pick them out. Haruhi waved to their friends and slowed their pace, drawing the Host Clubâs attention.
âSorry I'm late! I had some difficulty tying my obi.â Haruhi shouted as they tried to catch their breath, stopping just short of the gate.
âWow Haru-chan! You look amazing!â Honey-senpai was the first of the group to run up and greet them, bursting with excitement as always. âThe floral pattern of your yukata is lovely!â
âThank you, senpai. You brought Usa-chan along with you tonight I see?â
âMhmm! He wanted to experience the festival too!â
âHey Haruhi.â Hikaru greeted. âIf you were running late we could have met you halfway.â He spoke as he and his brother approached Haruhi and Honey, soon followed by the others.
âI wouldnât want you guys to get lost somewhere.â
âThatâs true. Maybe we all should have met at your place?â Kaoru chimed in.
âShowing up in limos in Haruhiâs small neighborhood could potentially cause another scene like last time, remember?â Kyoya remarked from behind the twins.
âMhmm.â Mori agreed, his short and simple contribution causing Haruhi to smile. It was good to see everyone again during summer vacation.
As the group continued to idly talk, Tamaki stood silently towards the back with his cheeks burning bright red, holding onto Kyoyaâs arm for support. Haruhi looked so pretty in their blue floral yukata, matching barrette clipped into their bangs and a beautiful flower decoration behind their left ear. His crush on Haruhi was no secret amongst the other members, and as much as they teased or joked they only wished him the best. Kyoya pinched the top of his hand to bring him back to reality and gestured to the festival behind them as an idea. Once Tamaki had managed to recover from the initial shyness, he decided to make his presence known, jumping into the conversation with his dramatic, sing-song voice.
âWell everyone, shall we head in? Thereâs lots more to do than just stand here and chitchat.â
âYeah! Letâs go everyone!â Haruhi enthused, the other boys nodding in agreement as they all made their way inside.
Taking their first steps onto the cobblestone path, the sights and sounds of the surrounding festival reminded Haruhi of the few times they had attended when they were younger. Back then they attended Obon with their father to honor their mother. While now was certainly no different, Haruhi thought it was reassuring that their mom would see them having fun with their friends tonight.
All around was laughter and chatter from the other festival-goers, while off in the distance Haruhi heard the steady rhythm of a drum. Everyone had agreed to participate in the festival dance later that evening, but until then, they would amuse themselves with the various stalls that lined each side of the walkway.
âHey, why don't we play a game to pass some time?â Hikaru suggested, Kaoru following his brotherâs gaze. The younger of the twins pointed to one stall as he finished the thought.
âHow about goldfish catching?â
Everyone thought it was an excellent idea, cheering in agreement as they headed to the stall. They were all handed both a paper scooper and a bowl of their own upon paying their 100 yen, everyone helping one another roll up the sleeves of their yukata before giving the game a chance. The rules were simple: be quick and catch as many fish as possible before the scooper disintegrated in the water, and no standing in the pool.
Catching fish was much more difficult than Haruhi recalled from their childhood, their paper scooper breaking after only a few submerges into the water. The boys seemed just as unlucky, unsuccessful in their attempts to catch even a single fish. However, Mori appeared to make up for their bad luck, finding a rhythm and capturing goldfish after goldfish before his paddle eventually broke. His bowl nearly overflowing with fish, he was forced to carry the plastic bags of his winnings in his arms. The group was now in quite the dilemma, for Mori would be unable to participate in the festival dance with his arms full of fish.
âYour goldfish are all so cute, Takashi! Look, this one here has orange speckles!â Honey pointed out as he watched the fish excitedly.
âBut it will be impossible for Mori-senpai to navigate through a crowd of people with all these bags in his arms.â Tamaki frowned and tapped his index finger to his chin.
âAnd we can't exactly take them either since theyâll get jostled around while we dance.â Kyoya thought aloud, allowing the rest of the group to ponder on their next course of action.
âMaybe the stall would take them back?â Hikaru suggested.
âOr perhaps we could put them on a bench and hope someone takes them home?â Kaoru proposed and looked around to see if there was a bench nearby.
As the others discussed the possible options, Mori set his sights somewhere off into the distance, leaving the group so he could carry out his own solution. A little way down the lane stood a group of girls who had noticed the Host Club, recognizing their pretty features and charming air. The Strong and Silent Host made his way towards the group of girls alone, wearing a smile on his face. Haruhi happened to notice that he had taken off, watching the scene unfold out of the corner of their eye.
âWould you like one?â Mori shrugged his arms, gesturing to the many goldfish he carried. Each of the ladies was thrilled to receive such an adorable gift from their upperclassman and thanked Mori generously before they departed to enjoy the rest of the festival.
âWell that sure got all those fish off your hands, huh, Mori-senpai?â Haruhi asked as he returned to their group. He nodded in typical Mori-fashion and watched as the group of girls showed one another their fish in excitement.
âYeah, they seemed really happy about it too.â
The group continued to wander around the festival, browsing the stalls and bravely trying a bit of the food. They each bought something different, allowing everyone to try out the various tastes and flavors. Haruhi had decided to purchase taiyaki, cutting the fish-shaped cakes into smaller pieces for sharing. The twins had bought ikayaki and dared everyone to at least try a small bite of the grilled squid on a stick. While they all stepped up to the plate, not everyone agreed that they would like to have a second bite.
âSay Haruhi, when is the dancing supposed to begin, again?â Hikaru asked as he threw out the stick to the chocolate covered banana he had been eating.
âIt begins at 8:30. What time is it now?â
âAccording to my watch, itâs about twenty after eight oâclock,â Kyoya reported.
âAlready?! It doesnât feel like weâve been walking around for that long!â
âIs something the matter Haruhi?â Tamaki asked, sensing concern in Haruhiâs voice.
âIf we dawdle for too much longer weâll be stuck in the back of the crowd for the dance. And thatâs no fun since we wonât be able to see the performers.â
âWell, if weâre all done eating, why donât we head on over? We came out tonight to dance, correct?â Kyoya suggested and nodded towards Haruhi. âLead the way and weâll follow close behind.â
âCome on then guys, let's go!â Haruhi motioned towards the gathering crowd.
The group soon found themselves encompassed by people on all sides, everyone full of excitement and cheer as they waited for the dances to begin. A few feet away stood a two-level yagura; the lower level serving as a stage for the dancers, while on the second level stood a nagadou-daiko, which a performer was already drumming away steadily on. Lanterns decorated the stage, bathing the area with enough light for everyone to see where they were going. Haruhiâs eagerness continued to build as the crowd grew. They turned to look at their friends, who wore expressions of nervousness.
âIs something⊠wrong?â Haruhi questioned. âYou were all so bubbly a few minutes ago.â
âWell, I believe what everyone is thinking here isââ
ââNone of us know the actions for the dances.â The twins spoke in turns, the others nodding in agreement.
âYou're kidding me, right? None of you know the movements?â
âI would keep in mind that the last time many of us visited a festival was when we were children. And even then, I'm certain our parents would have taken us home before it had gotten too late.â Kyoya answered as everyone else agreed. Haruhi sighed as they thought about their next steps.
âWell, I suppose this time I will be the one instructing you guys! You all better watch carefully and not miss a beat!â
With minimal space available, Haruhi did their best to explain and demonstrate the actions to the dances they could remember as the others paid close attention. They practiced as the opening taiko performance played, Haruhi giving key pointers as well as warning them that they might become separated during the dances.
âI think Iâm going to mess up these actions big time. Was it a step with the left or right foot first, again?â Tamaki looked to Haruhi for help, feeling a tad silly that he couldnât keep the order straight in his head.
âThe right foot, Tamaki-senpai. Donât worry about messing up the steps too much though. Remember, itâs all about having fun!â
Haruhiâs smile made Tamakiâs heart skip a beat as they spoke and blood rose to his cheeks, painting them a nice, bright red. The ever-outgoing Host Club King could only bring himself to nod as Haruhi tried once more to explain the actions. Though he listened carefully, the tutorial was cut off by a very loud man announcing that the fun was about to start.
âIs everybody ready?â came a booming voice, pausing to give the crowd a moment to cheer in reply. âAlright! Here we go everyone! 3 - 2 - 1, leeeeetâsss begin!â
Enthusiasm surrounded the yagura as Haruhi and their friends danced together, the atmosphere amplified by so many others also enjoying themselves. The first few songs were slower in tempo, the crowd moving in a circle around the yagura as they danced. Everyone watched Haruhi as they led the group at the front, doing their best not to hit anyone in the face with their sleeves or step on someoneâs toes. After some time there was a bit of a free dance, which allowed everyone to jam out as they liked. Although standing in the middle of the crowd was quite warm, everyone held it together, having a good time as they danced and laughed to the beat of the music.
To start, the group had managed to stay together, but they were eventually separated as the dances became more hectic, Tamaki finding himself amidst unfamiliarâalbeit exuberantâfaces. He had met a few of his friends so far, matched up with Kyoya as well as the twins during the group dance. He was honestly having fun, watching the demonstrators so as to not mess up the actions too terribly. That was, until Tamaki switched places with his dance partner, turned around, and realized who his new partner would be.
âH-Haruhi?!â
âOh hi Tamaki-senpai! Looks like weâll be partners for a bit!â*
Tamaki could feel his blood run hot as his cheeks flushed red, his actions turning clunky and disjointed. He was too worried about messing up big time in front of his crush, of all people, though he did his best to keep on dancing to cover it up.
âAre you enjoying yourself so far, Tamaki-senpai?â
âM-mhm.â
Haruhiâs expressions of delight as they moved along to the music eased Tamakiâs nerves immensely, allowing him to enjoy the moment too. Even though he was certain that he had made a few mistakes, he had forgotten all about trying to be perfect and let himself smile and laugh.
âSha!â They shouted in synchronization, laughing together as they continued to dance. This moment was the most amount of fun Tamaki had experienced in a long time, apart from club activities. As the night progressed, he was truly thankful that Haruhi had invited them to the festival that night, because he was making priceless memories with the people he felt happiest around.
As the dancing continued, people joined in and left as they pleased, each Host Club member making their way out of the crowd once exhausted and convening at the meetup spot they had decided upon earlier. Now only waiting for Haruhi, the other members talked amongst themselves as they did their best to keep cool in the humid evening air.
âSorry you guys! Every time I tried to leave, the crowd kept pulling me back in!â Haruhi panted, relieved to have escaped the suffocating air of the dances. They quickly opened the bottle of water they had run to buy once free, taking a long swig to rehydrate themself.
âYou wouldnât think it, but dancing around like that sure builds up a sweat!â Tamaki said as he wiped his brow with a cloth. Kyoya and the twins did their best to beat the humidity by waving fans in one otherâs direction. On the other hand, Mori and Honey seemed to be the only ones who were not tired, their endurance built up from martial arts training preparing them for such high-energy activities.
âWell, should we make our way over to the fireworks?â Haruhi prompted as they finished quenching their thirst.
âIt would be best to get going before it becomes too congested.â Kyoya tucked his fan into his sleeve, the twins continuing to bask in the cold air provided by their own.
âWhereâs the best place to watch from, Haruhi?â
âThe fireworks happen over the river, right?â Kaoru explained, answering his brotherâs question. âIf we get close enough to see its reflection itâll be a beautiful show.â
âYouâre right, Kaoru. Follow me! I know just the spot.â Haruhi began to walk down the gravel path towards the river, followed close behind by the others. A few lanterns lit the way, but for the most part it was dark, the sun having set a while ago. Given that it was a clear night, it surely would be an excellent fireworks show under the stars.
Haruhi did know of a great spot to watch the fireworks; however, it appeared they werenât the only ones to have that idea. A small crowd had already started to form along that section of the river, forcing the group to stand back, away from the river bank.
âOoh I canât see, everyoneâs too tall!â
âHere, Mitsukuni.â Mori moved before Honey could respond and hoisted the boy up to sit on his shoulders. Now he towered over the crowd and had the best seat in the house.
âThanks, Takashi! Look Usa-chan, now weâll be able to see all the fireworks!â Honey cheered as he rested his chin on the plush rabbitâs head.
Off in the distance the dances continued, the music adding to the already excited air as people chatted with one another. The group talked amongst themselves, discussing how fun it might be to hold a summer event like this for the Host Club. However, as the wait was drawn out, the chattering wavered almost uneasily. Now and again a small child protested, questioning or upset with the nervous energy. Haruhi could see the anxious anticipation in the set of the twinsâ eyes and the way Honey-senpai slouched atop Mori-senpai's shoulders. Even Kyoya and Tamaki seemed a tad restless, the vice president cleaning off his glasses with the speed of a turtle as their King looked out over the river in a daydream-like state.
Just as the feeling of impatience started to feel too heavy, the first firework rang out with a bang, immediately drawing the eager crowd's attention from the dark where theyâd been waiting. It lit up the sky and created a beautiful reflection in the lake below, leaving everyone breathless as more and more fireworks were set off.
âLook at those ones Hikaru! Itâs like theyâre sizzling!â
âFireworks sure have become fancier since we were little, huh Kaoru?â
âI wonder how much a show like this would cost to have for the Host Club⊠hmmâŠâ Kyoya mused to himself, making a mental note to jot down later.
The fireworks glistened over the water with every loud bang, lighting up the sky with sparkles and excitement. Haruhi let a gasp fall from their lips as an especially high firework burst in the sky, changing colors from yellow to blue as it dispersed. Amazed at the sight, Haruhi leaned so far back to see it that their head brushed against Tamakiâs arm, pulling the otherâs attention away from the show. He looked down at Haruhi, watching as their eyes lit up at every firework, wondering what they were thinking.
âThe fireworks sure are spectacular, arenât they, Haruhi?â
âYeah⊠Iâm glad we could watch them together. It was fun to hang out with everyone outside of our Host Club activities.â They paused for a moment, trying to collect their feelings as a rainbow of color exploded before their eyes. âI really appreciate you all coming out tonight, too.â
âI think my mom also had a good evening.â They thought to themself as they watched every color imaginable dance across the dark canvas of night sky. Haruhiâs previous comment drew Tamakiâs attention for a concentrated moment before he looked back up, watching as the sky was decorated with bright oranges and fiery reds which were very reminiscent of the festival. He almost missed what Haruhi said as the grand finale started, their voice drowned out by the loud booms and cheers from the crowd.
âWe should all definitely hang out like this more often.â
Despite the surrounding darkness, there was just enough light from the spectacle above that Tamaki could make out the smile that bloomed across Haruhiâs face.
âI think thatâs a great idea. What do you say, you guys?â Tamaki looked at everyone around him before lifting his gaze, his next words unheard as the other members remained absorbed in the firework show.
âLetâs make lots more memories together in the future.â
Thank you for reading! This project was an absolute delight to be a part of and I will hold this experience near and dear to my heart!

A COMPARISON OF SHINHWA TO THE OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB
Recently, I became a fan of Shinhwa and since then I have been mixing up fandoms in my mind. Itâs so annoying.
To unload some of my "burdensâ, hereâs something Iâve been thinking about for some time: if Shinhwa members were members of the Ouran High School Host Club (OHSHC), who would they be and why?
This was hard to think of because no one in Shinhwa is exactly like any of the characters in Ouran. So why am I still thinking of it? T_T
Hereâs what I was able to come up with:
1) Dongwan = Haruhi
Haruhi is known for being honest to the point of bluntness. Dongwan is like that, too. He was the one who told fans (known as Shinhwa Changjo or SHCJ) that Shinhwa was not responsible for their lives. It was a shocking when he said that because he was basically scolding the Changjos for âwastingâ their lives following Shinhwa. He lost a number of fans due to this but like Haruhi, he just didnât care âcoz it was the truth, anyway. This turned out to be a good thing in the long run because it managed to weed out the very crazy fans from the more-reasonable-but-still-a-bit-crazy ones. Other interviews show him answering questions so honestly (i.e. What is the secret of Shinhwaâs longevity? âThe contract,â he said.) that other members look at him weirdly just like how the other members of Ouran look at Haruhi weirdly for her âcommonerâ ways.
The thing that sets Haruhi apart from Dongwan is that he is also known for being âEro-wan.â Think of how Naruto calls Jiraiya âEro-senninâ due to the latterâs womanizing ways. Now I donât want to think too deeply on how Dongwan got this nickname but Haruhi is certainly no pervert. LOL.
2) Minwoo = Tamaki
These two are kings of fan service. Minwoo, like Tamaki, is the expert on delivering cheesy lines to fans. In the anime, Tamaki is the âkingâ of the Host Club. In real life, Minwoo is the co-CEO of the Shinhwa Company and its âfrontâ leader.
However, Minwoo is also known by the nickname âSpecial Stupidâ due to stuff he did on the groupâs old variety show Shinhwa Broadcast. This is so much like how Tamaki is called an airhead due to the silly things he does. This doesnât mean theyâre really stupid, though. Tamaki is ranked first in their class in the anime. To parallel it with Minwoo, this guy is responsible for producing Shinhwaâs albums: from choosing and arranging the songs to choreographing the dances. He is very musically talented.
However, the big difference between these two would be their heights. Tamaki, if Iâm not mistaken, is the second tallest person in their group. Minwoo is the shortest. Hehehe... Donât worry, Minwoo makes up for this shortcoming (pun intended) with his incredible sense of fashion.
3) Eric = Kyouya
Eric is known as the leader of Shinhwa so designating him as Kyouya, who is the vice president of the Ouran High School Host Club is wrong, isnât it? Shouldnât Eric be Tamaki, the king and president?
Well, as mentioned earlier, Minwoo is a co-CEO of ShinCom. The other CEO of the company is none other than Eric. In fact, it was Eric who described Minwoo as the one leading from the front while he (Eric) led from the back. This is very much like Kyouya who is in charge of the behind the scenes activities of the club like handling the finances.
However, there is no denying that Eric also has Tamakiâs personality in him. In the anime and manga, it was Tamaki that gathered the members and held the club together. In real life, all the members consider Eric as the one most responsible for the group not breaking up even if they went through challenges such as their 4-year hiatus from K-Pop activities due to their military enlistment. Eric was the one who convinced them to get back together for their return to the K-Pop scene in 2012, which turned out to be a success. Interviews with the other members show how much work he has put into making Shinhwa the group and company that it is today.
The next thing Iâm going to mention about Eric, though, shows that real people are so much more interesting than anime characters. Eric is known for being â4D.â This is a term I havenât encountered before in my years of watching anime and reading mangas. In K-Pop, 4D people are those who are âoff the wallâ or âalien.â After watching various variety shows with Eric in them I think what they call as 4D is his love for pranking his fellow members (and fans) and for giving weird replies to questions in interviews. Well if thatâs the case, then we go to the next section...
3 (again) Eric = Hikaru and Kaoru (The Twins)
Eric loves pranks so much that he must be channeling the twins. Hikaru and Kaoru are the masters of pranking in their club. They are also the masters of âskinshipâ with their âbrotherly loveâ act that has all the girls fainting over them. "What is this skinship you speak of?â you might ask. Think of it as bromance. Now that weâve entered the topic of skinship, I have to say that ALL of the members of Shinhwa are masters of it. There are a lot of pairings in Shinhwa. We have acronyms such as RicSyung, RicDy, RicMin, WooDong, MinDy, etc. One member has been paired with another at least once in their lives -- not that any of these are happening in real life (but you never know) -- in order to satisfy fansâ delusions.
Having typed that previous sentence, I now know why I couldnât get the comparison of the anime with Shinhwa out of my mind. The Host Club existed in order to satisfy the Ouran High School girlsâ delusions just like Shinhwa exists to satisfy their fansâ imaginations (aside from making music and money). Ooooooohhh.... My mind is shattered. LOL.
Going back to our main topic, while Eric has characteristics found in the twins, all of the members of Shinhwa also have the twins in them. They all love showing hints of bromance to their fans and they all love to play jokes on each other--so much that they were able to star in their own variety show entitled Shinhwa Broadcast (a.k.a. ShinBang). Korean variety shows seem to be full of pranks and games. ShinBang was very important in cementing Shinhwaâs place in the  Korean entertainment world not only as âmusic idolsâ but also as âvariety idolsâ as well.
Moving on to the next Shinhwa member...
4) Andy = Hani (Hunny or Honey in some translations)
Cuteness overload!
Andy, being the youngest (âmaknaeâ) in Shinhwa, and Hani (short for Haninozuka), being the smallest and most child-like in spite of being the oldest member of the club, are responsible for the cute factor in both groups. But donât let their âaegyoâ fool you. Both can be wise and ruthless at times. Hani-sempai, in spite of looking like an elementary student, has offered wise advice to the rest of the members when they needed it in the manga. On the other hand, Shinhwa members have described Andy as being the most mature out of all of them in spite of being the youngest.
Both have a dangerous side to them, too. Haniâs monster mode is awakened whenever something precious to him is threatened or when his sleep is disturbed. Andy has a Zomdy mode (Zombie + Andy) that is awakened when he gets too competitive in the games heâs playing in variety shows. It also looks like he uses the Zomdy mode on his hyungs (the older Shinhwa members) whenever they become too rowdy during dance practices.
Ouch, that scary glare... it burnsssss.
5) Jun Jin = Mori
Ooooh... that manly charm.
This part is a bit of a joke because how could talkative Jun Jin be silent Mori? Well, since Andy, the youngest in Shinhwa, became Hani, the oldest in the OHSHC, then Jun Jin, the second youngest in Shinhwa, now becomes Mori, the second oldest member of the Host Club. LOL.
Honestly, the only similarity I can see in the two of them are that both are the âjocksâ of their respective groups. Mori is an active practitioner of various martial arts like judo, kendo and karate. Jun Jin is the most athletic member of Shinhwa. This YouTube video shows him being able to do wondrous sports and gymnastic feats: https://youtu.be/bkCD-26mic0. Mori and Jun Jinâs strength is probably why members of their respective groups like being carried by them.
Based on this picture, Eric has a bit of Hani in him, too. Coincidentally, Hani has been called an âalien,â in the anime by none other than his own brother.
As mentioned earlier, Jun Jin is very talkative and good at grabbing and holding an audienceâs attention. This was how he was dubbed as the âvariety kingâ of Shinhwa. This puts him at par with Tamaki who is the noisiest of the lot and simply loves basking in the attention of the ladies coming to the Host Club. Like Tamaki, Jun Jin also has a rather troubled and dramatic background story involving his father, mother and grandmother. In spite of this, Jun Jin is still able to maintain his smile. He is considered the sunshine or mood maker of Shinhwa just like how Tamaki is for the OHSHC.
Next up is...
6) Hyesung = ?
<Pout> Who am I?
Now we come to the most difficult Shinhwa member to classify based on the Ouran High School Host Club characters. Shin Hyesung is Shinhwaâs main vocalist and âLittle Prince.â What does that term remind me of?
Ah, the princely Tamaki.
This was an image given to him by their first managers when they debuted back in 1998 that somehow is still stuck to him up to this day. Little Prince Hyesung is someone who does not want engage in the riotous acts of his comrades yet somehow always gets pulled into doing them anyway. Since Tamaki is always game for tomfoolery, this aspect of Hyesungâs character can be said to be like Kyouyaâs.
Câmon Kyouya, you know you want to.
Hyesungâs involvement in his group members hijinksâ often leads to either or both of these reactions: extreme embarrassment and/or the awakening of beast mode.
Embarrassed Tamaki is embarrassed.
RAWR
The members (and fans) love him for these reactions. They all want to be in a ârelationshipâ with him, much like how everyone wants to be with Haruhi, be it a bromance or looking for âmotherâ. One nickname of Hyesung is âMama Bird.â Jun Jin is his âBaby Bird.â
Everybody loves Hyesung Haruhi. Is it because she looks like is a girl?
Sometimes, Hyesung is able to shed his Little Prince image. When that happens, he turns into Jung Pil-kyo (his real name). Jung Pil-kyo is a really cool guy. He holds a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo. It has been mentioned earlier that Mori is skilled in various martial arts. But those skills are nothing compared to what Hani can do when heâs on a roll. In the anime and manga, Hani is said to be the best martial arts champion in Japan. His prowess is such that he has been instructed by his family to never go all-out in a public fight. It really is too bad heâs so short and doesnât actively practice martial arts anymore. Hyesung is one of the taller members of Shinhwa. So Hyesungâs got the best of both worlds, Haniâs prowess, and Moriâs height.
Now let us all pause for a while to appreciate the awesome-ness that is Jung Pil-kyo.
Iâm so awesome.
When he gets into the zone, he REALLY GETS INTO IT. Without any traces of embarrassment, Hyesung is able to joke around with the rest of the group. And that is how I was able to claim earlier that ALL Shinhwa members have âThe Twinsâ in them. Hyesung does not shy away from pranking and even skinship. He transforms yet again into another aspect of his personality, the master mistress of erotica, Lemon Syung.
So in the end, Hyesung = the whole OHSHC. Sweet.
To recap things, here are the members of Shinhwa and their corresponding Ouran counterparts.
Dongwan = Haruhi + Twins
Minwoo = Tamaki + Twins
Eric = Kyouya + Tamaki + Hani + Twins
Andy = Hani + Twins
Jun Jin = Mori + Tamaki + Twins
Hyesung = Â Tamaki + Kyouya + Haruhi + Mori + Hani + Twins = the whole OHSHC
Leader-nim sends his âLike.â But arenât you forgetting someone?
Huh? Who... Oh yeah!
7) Shinhwa Changjo = Renge-chan and the OHSHC Fans Club
Renge-chan is the self-proclaimed president of the OHSHC Fans Club. She started out liking only Kyouya but eventually fell in love with everyone else in the Host Club. Isnât it funny in how that parallels most Changjosâ experience with the Shinhwa fandom? Personally, I found out about Shinhwa through watching Eric in one variety show, Three Meals a Day. And look at me now, making this write-up on Tumblr after learning about and liking the other members. Sigh... such is life.  Â
By the way, Shinhwaâs color is orange. Isnât it funny how Renge-chan has orange hair?
So thatâs it for now. Good night everyone.
